The Battle of 17 Days, as the bards have begun to call it, was a long and treacherous ordeal undertaken by many heroes that finally brought the end of the Cult of Apep in the Sea of Dust. The battle is named such for it took the heroes 17 days beneath the sands, in the sunken pyramid that comprised Apep's tomb, to navigate through and defeat the would-be conquerer-god. The heroes faced many perils, not just from combat with the Cult of Apep but also their undead creations and other monstrosities. The brave knight of Pelor, Camen Fondor (East of Pelor), lost his life in the final battle with Apep. Pelor allowed the valiant warrior to ascend to the heavens before his last breath overtook him; such a mortal ascendancy is unheard of and was a pure statement of Pelor's love and pride in his worthy knight.

Memorial

In the temple in the Sea of Dust and at the feet of a massive dragon statue, an obelisk transmuted from the floor of the temple memorializes those brave heroes.
