Ruby City

A small city to the South of Lincolnshire Wood. It is the home of various races and occupations. Temples to Mystra and St. Cuthbert may be found there, as well as various merchants. Many mages visit the city, but little is known about their business there.

The Grandfather Oak

The Grandfather Oak is located at the heart of Ruby City. It is Ruby City's oldest resident. Local druids have taken core samples and they believe that the Grandfather Oak is more than 1,500 years old! Many folks spend time under the old tree enjoying a picnic, or spend some time alone there.

The Ruby of a Thousand Flames

The Ruby of a Thousand Flames is the whole inspiration for Ruby City. It was discovered only 40 years ago by a dwarven miner named Finian Thunderhelm. He was excavating in a mine, that still exists today under Ruby City, when he found the ruby. A friend of his, who was a skilled jeweler, crafted the ruby into a necklace with 100 small diamonds on each side of it. That's where Ruby City's banners get their color.

Finian gave the necklace to his wife Emdra. From time to time she puts the Necklace of a Thousand Flames on display so that folks can see it and gain hope that one day they too can become wealthy from the fruits of their own labor. It truly is encouraging.
