Shra'kal was an ancient shadow dragon that lived beneath an area of Lincolnshire Wood known as the Wicked Wood. Its Crypt Lair was filled with secret passages and magical teleportation triggers. Shra'kal is credited as the mastermind behind a foiled plot that would bring the dragon goddess Tiamat into the Prime Material Plane. In this plot, the caverns beneath Borgo Pass were taken and a massive dragon nest was created. In this nest were eggs from all of the different chromatic dragons. The ritual was thwarted by a group of brave heroes of the realm.

The heroes had gathered information about a potion promised to melt the scales from a dragon, thus killing it. The potion, called Apep's Tear, did as promised, and more. Shra'kal was targeted with one of the potions and his scales melted from his hide, and the beast fell to the ground. The heroes cheered as they hurled more of the potions at the other dragons.

A few minutes later, the earth rumbled and massive dragon shaped forms rushed in from the horizon crashing into the lifeless bodies of the slaughtered dragons. Confused, the heroes looked on as burning red eye sockets came to life as the skeletal forms rose up.

Shra'kal, and others, had become dracoliches.

Shra'kal's current location is a mystery. A knight in the Dragon Army, Mina Drake, has been actively seeking information regarding this dracolich in order to return his soul to Tiamat.
